Town Feeling

Joined by members of Vetiver, Currituck Co and Espers, James ventures a little further into Americana with a touch of Drake and British accent (well, he is from Yorkshire). Hindle is reunited with guitarists Neil Cleary and Kevin Barker (Currituck Co.), and Gary Olson and Julia Rydholm of The Ladybug Transistor. Other collaborators at the sessions include Otto Hauser (Espers), Andy Cabic (Vetiver) and James Huggins (Of Montreal).

Prospect Park

Released the summer of 2003, the second album from British folk-balladeer James William Hindle. Present again are the wistful, delicately-strummed melodies strewn with hope and longing, but on this album, the proceedings are livened up with a backing band consisting of members of Ladybug Transistor and Essex Green. We might be a tad biased when we say this, but nonetheless, this album contains some of the finest-crafted songs we've heard from that side of the pond in a long time - really beautiful stuff.

James William Hindle

The Yorkshire-born songwriter's debut more than lives up to expectations hinted at by his appearance on the Mark Kozelek compiled 'Take Me Home' tribute to John Denver (Badman, 2000). A largely acoustic-based record with guest appearances from Paula Frazer and Tim Mooney (AMC) and recorded by Dylan Magierek in San Francisco. James William Hindle is an album full of warmth and refreshingly free of pretence.
